I bought this hoping it would be chew proof for our one year old lab. While it did last longer than other chew toys, he was still able to destroy it after about a week.Definitely not indestructible. We have a super chewer in the family. He opened it up in under 15 minutes. He complete destroyed it in under an hour. Fluff and string everywhere. He had fun though. It’s been a week and hasn’t been destroyed. The corners are chewed between fetches and she was able to start ripping the firehose. At least she stopped chewing the house. My dog usually goes through stuffed toys in 5-10 minutes. These last anywhere from 2 weeks-1.5 months of daily chewing from a 2 year old collie mix. Super reasonable price, especially for the durability, so I keep buying these! They're my go-to toy and Tucker loves it.My dog ( peer bread Rottweiler only 11 months old) likes to demolish his toys. So far he has yet to chew through these.Everything from this company is great. Well made great quality and the dog toys last. But most importantly my puppy is happy. My girl is the most extreme of chewers and rips apart every toy she gets in minutes except these. It's like they are her favorite and she doesn't want to give them up or lose them. They are so well made that we can tug and play all day and I never worry about them coming apart or her getting hurt because of a cheaply made toy. We’ve had this for a few months and our 75 pound German Shepherd Australian shepherd mix can’t destroy it! We just bought a second one. Our diets one held up well as an outside fetch toy but he kept bringing it inside so we ordered another for inside. It does fine in the washing machine too. Must have toy for dog who loves to chew. BEST VALUE EVER!!Taro really enjoyed this toy, however after about 20 minutes managed to shred the edges. The middle seems tough, but he is determined to gut any soft toy he is given. As noted the weakness is definitely the edge stitching, the nylon sewed over the ends really gives him a place to get his molars on and grind. I think if instead of the edge piece sewed on and instead just stitching it closed with like a lot of rows of heavy dutch stitching, it would work better. I managed to find some custom made firehose toys on etsy that are constructed like that and I think they'll hold up better. The wee man has great fun with this, playing tug of war ... The toy is sturdy, well put together, and is lasting very well, because i never let him take it away and chew it like he does with his other cheaper toys ...I doubt theres a toy in existence that lasts very long, when the dog is left to chew on it to their hearts content ... So i reckon the more expensive toys should be special treat ones ..It always stays with me .. and for that reason, stays intact... but also, because he never gets to take it away and chew it, and i put it away when were not playing with it, he always remains keenly interested in it ...so this toy is one of his special toys, that he enjoys in small doses .. he'll never get bored with it like his pother toys, and should last a life time on that basis ...Had the toy less than 5 minutes before it was bitten straight through and the end removed. Complete waste of money, don't buy!I was impressed with this toy when it arrived as it looked quite tough. Unfortunately it was no match for Stanley the Destroyer who had shredded through the 'double stitched seams' and ripped the front off of the toy before scattering the stringy pieces of hosepipe throughout the house. I'd say it lasted maybe as long as 15 minutes before it was ready for the bin. Stanley has been known to rip the face off of a squeaky pig in under 1 minute so this did last well in comparison however the problem was that due to the type of fabric covering, it went into stringy threads and it would have been dangerous to let him continue to play with the toy once the stuffing had been removed. the hosepipe inner also went to little pieces where it had been chewed. Stanley did love this toy and cried when it went in the bin but I wouldn't buy again as it is not cost effective. I have got him a fish from the egg babies range by the same manufacturer which has lasted 4 months so far and is a better buy if you dog like to shred.Stanley is a small dashund coss. Our dogs love their "hoses". It's their favourite toys to bring to us when we arrive back home. They are almost indestructible too! We bought one 9 years ago and it was literally ONLY toy our dog hadn't destroyed. He has now, hence me buying a new one, but getting almost 9 years out of a dog's toy for us is very good going!!!I have a border terrier who seems to 'eat' his way through all his toys. Decided to look for something stronger and found it. This is a really good toy, pity the squeaker isn't a bit louder, but this is a good toy and is still in good working order even after a few weeks. Would definitely recommend
