I got those toy a few months back for my 18 month old Golden Retriever. He had been destroying soccer balls left and right, but LOVES to chase them. This has kept him busy for months now. At least once every day I catch him looking for it, and once he's found it you know it because it makes quite a racket if he rolls it on hard floors or bangs it into things. Generally speaking the noise isn't bothersome. It's hilarious watching him chase it, and the irregular roll makes it so much more entertaining for everyone. He's a chewer and toy destroyer, although not quite on the level that our smaller Aussie is, but neither of them can get their jaws around this thing, so it's stayed in fabulous condition and is truly an engaging chase game.So these last a long time- don’t get me wrong. However, they get crushed within about 5 minutes by my dog. There aren’t really any sharp edges (he’s under supervision when playing with it), and he doesn’t chew on it, so it’s still his favorite toy. He crushes it with his jaws so he had the ability to carry it around (12” sized egg). His favorite thing about the toy is that when he chases it around the yard it is unpredictable because of its shape. It keeps him very entertained. I change it out for a new one about once a month.I ordered the 12” Jolly Egg for my 19 month old Doberman. For the first few minutes he enjoyed batting it around trying to figure it out. Then because he couldn’t sink his teeth in it to carry it around, he became bored with it and now wants nothing to do with it. This might be better for a younger puppy to play with.We have two large Jolly balls that he still enjoys. My 2 year old rottie/dobie is obsessed with his egg! The plastic is pretty durable (lasted us about a year before I had to buy another one) and it gets all his energy out! He could play with this thing for hours and has SO much fun! Good physical and mental enrichment.I will say that it’s best used outside in a large open area, or somewhere fenced in. It will definitely bang up your walls and furniture if you’ve got a larger, energetic dog.Neat product and I hoped one of my more playful pups would enjoy. He likes it ok. A more playful dog would really enjoy it it's got a neat roll to it, strong and good sized. My 20 year daughter moved back home and with her came her 1 year old bulldog/husky mix. The grandpupper is high energy and makes quick work of any and ALL "indestructible" dog toys.I saw the Jolly Egg on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I am SO glad that I did!!! It's been almost a month and this thing is still alive, with no signs of giving out, ever. Mr. Moo Moo can't get his mouth around the egg to chew it. It has so many teeth scratch marks on from him trying, but the plastic is so hard and thick that I don't foresee him ever being able to break it.The only con I have is that it is VERY noisy on being played with on hard flooring, such as tile. The pros FAR out way the cons in this case.I got the 8 inch size for my 45-50 pound poodle yesterday. She went bananas. It was so loud, banging into walls and furniture, that I took it away. This afternoon, I brought it outside and she went insane again. However, it took her only 5 minutes to crush it and pierce it with her teeth. I see that I should get a larger size for her, so I’m going to try that. She is an extreme chewer and has destroyed multiple Kongs, so I’m not as surprised as I should be.If she crushes the large size, I’ll update my review. She really, really had fun chasing this around. It seems like it should be sturdy, so I’m trying again.(Also, my neighbor’s dog came over and loved chasing this around, too. Neither of them are puppies, so it was fun to see them getting so goofy.)My VERY active spaniel puppy LOVES her jolly egg! She nudges it around the floor, jumps and rolls over it, nips at it, and keeps going! Great for indoor or outdoor!I foster dogs for a rescue, only bull breeds and their crosses. Tricky to find toys able to survive yet keep their attraction to them. I had an eye on this one for a long time, hesitated for the rather steep original price. So, the half price offer invited...It's light, it moves awkwardly - the dogs love it, no doubt. One even a bit too much - the other dogs only get a chance once he really has to leave it to get a drink. It suggests to get a couple more of these. BUT even the smaller one can easily pick it up and carry around. And with smaller one I mean 'small' (the one in the pictures is 55cm/21" from top of head to feet, 19kg)The pictures show the damage done on the very first day, after a couple of hours. Obviously, it will get easier and easier for their teeth to find hold and the damage will get worse. This should not be possible with this product, at least that's what I take from the description. And not only are the edges quite sharp, for which I see a risk of hurting the soft tissue of the mouth. But the deep marks allow for dirt and germs to build up. That's particularly a risk for foster dogs with health issues and requires daily deep cleaning and disinfection, or even in between dogs.It also makes me wonder how long it will last at all.Not particularly "satisfied", I will wait and see if it is feasible spending money on getting more of these or look for something else. With all the technology and materials available today, why can't anyone built something "bully proper"?Anyway....3 stars - it's okay.update: found some older pictures while migrating to a new computer. One star is too much as it is, in fact, an easily destructable and, hence, dangerously sharp-edged toy. Boomer Ball so far not broken through.lasted 5 mins before my Staffie bit a puncher hole in it.12 months on, my dog spent the first few days biting this toy and making it damaged and out of shape. However once the initial damage was done my dog now just carries it everywhere with him and likes to play fetch with it. So the toy isn't perfect and yes expensive to be chewed but my dog likes playimg with it.Jolly egg company states: Question: “Is there a dog toy that exists that is not only super-durable and strong, but also is actually fun to play with?” Answer: “Yes – The Jolly Egg™.In reality my staffordshire terier broke this toy in about 2-3 minutes and pieces of it started to flying everywhere. I am totally unsatisfied with your product and would like to have a refund. One of my dogs was thrilled by this for about an hour after it arrived, just obsessed... and then lost interest and has barely looked at it since, which seems odd! The other dog has never shown any interest in it. I've known dogs who loved it, but it doesn't seem to be doing it for my two. Both are border collies, one 3 years old and very playful, especially with a ball or a rope toy, and the other is 9 months old and will chew anything in sight and likes a ball but isn't obsessed like the older dog is.Great dog toy! The 8 inch one is a bit small for a Staffy. She just manages to get her mouth round it so it won't last long. I need the bigger one. But still it's great whilst it lasts. It'd be good for smaller dogs
